Entails an art and science of map making

This course is intended to provide trainees with managerial skills, knowledge and attitudes that they require in order to effectively carry out supervisory duties in surveying and mapping establishment.

Entails techniques applied in carrying out both fixed boundary surveying and general boundary surveying.

This course unit is designed to provide the trainee with the knowledge and practical skills which they will need in order to carry out site surveys for design and implementation, monitoring of building and construction engineering structures


This course unit is designed to provide trainees with sufficient knowledge and practical skills which they will require to apply in order to provide precise reference/surveying points for controlling the accuracy of subsidiary surveys in the field


This unit introduces trainees in cartography and land surveying to relevant knowledge and skills of photogrammetry and remote sensing in terms of photographic and satellite-image interpretation, which they will require to apply in their trade

Geography is designed to equip the trainees with relevant knowledge that will enable them to develop a sound geographical grounding for studies in surveying and mapping. The course is divided into two;

1. Physical Geography (stage 1): deals with land forming processes and related aspects of physical geography.

2. Human Geography (stage 2): deals with aspects of human socio-economic geography

Control survey is designed to provide trainees with sufficient knowledge and practical skills which they will require to apply in order to provide precise reference/ survey points for controlling the accuracy of subsidiary surveys in the field
